What Is A Prop?
A property, commonly shortened to prop (plural: props), is an object used on stage or on screen by actors during a performance or screen production. In practical terms, a prop is considered to be anything movable or portable on a stage or a set, distinct from the actors, scenery, costumes and electrical equipment. Consumable food items appearing in the production are also considered properties. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatrical_property
Why Is The Use Of Props Important?
The use of props is an important element of any filming production. It says so much about the scene, a character and the mood set.
Camera and Tripod - We used the tripod and camera to film the majority of our clips within our trailer. This allowed us to steadily film clips without the unwanted movement which would be caused by not using the tripod. Having the clips filmed steadily makes the trailer look more professional and well produced. However at times we did remove the tripod from the camera and film some clips free hand purely because it creates a stronger tension within the scene. Hand held camera shots were effective for the genre of our film and for making the chase scenes more fearful.
Make Up - The make up was important for our genre and slasher sub genre of our trailer because our cast needed to be covered in fake blood and have wounds to show how they have been killed. We used lots of fake blood to enhance really brutal wounds.

Rosary Beads
We found rosary beads at our location and we chose to film these as it further enhances the religious connotations in our horror and sets the scene for the trailer. The us of the swinging rosary beads made a great motion background for our titles and the audio of this was great to put over our soundtrack as it creates an intense atmosphere.
