We watched a series of horror trailers and listened out for diegetic and non-diegetic dialogue, when we heard the dialogue we counted how many shots that the sound covered. At the end we added up all the totals of diegetic and non-diegetic sound per trailer that we had found and calculated an average.
THE ID (2016)
Whilst watching The ID trailer we counted up 32 diegetic dialogue scenes and 25 non-diegetic dialogue scenes.
THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE (2016)
Whilst watching The Autopsy of Jane Doe trailer we counted up 12 diegetic dialogue scenes and 1 non-diegetic dialogue scene.
THE UNSPOKEN (2016)
Whilst watching The Unspoken trailer we counted up 14 diegetic dialogue scenes and 10 non-diegetic dialogue scenes.
OUIJA 2 (2016)
Whilst watching the Ouija 2 trailer we counted up 41 diegetic dialogue scenes and 22 non-diegetic dialogue scenes.
CLOWN (2016)
Whilst watching The Clown trailer we counted up 15 diegetic dialogue scenes and 37 non-diegetic dialogue scenes, we considered this trailer as our anomalie as normally trailers have more diegetic dialogue than non-diegetic dialogue.
GET OUT (2016)
Whilst watching the Get Out trailer we counted up 59 diegetic dialogue scenes and 56 non-diegetic dialogue scenes.
THE MONSTER (2016)
Whilst watching The Monster trailer we counted up 18 diegetic dialogue scenes and 15 non-diegetic dialogue scenes.
THE CARETAKER (2016)

EMELIE (2016)

From our research we have concluded that overall, trailers have more diegetic dialogue than non-diegetic dialogue. This shows us that we need to include more diegetic sound.
